Theme this year: HONORING OUR FREEDOM
6:00 p.m. – begins music, food, and fun!
Place: Unity Park
Music: Provided by Country All-Stars featuring Wayne “Animal” Turner (was with Hank Williams Jr. for 27 yrs.), Miss Leslie on the fiddle, and band leader, Jim Sloan. Sponsored by the Cecil Bell, Jr. Family.
Food: Bring your picnic baskets with food and beverages. Williams Pavilion will host some of our local restaurants who will provide “samplings” of their dishes. No vendors this year!
Fun: Children’s splash pad, skate ramp, sand volleyball, horseshoes, great friends, a community parade, plus a fabulous FIREWORKS display at 9:20 pm.
Parade: Begins at 7:30 p.m. The parade route will start at th 6th grade campus, go down Commerce St., left on to Nichols Sawmill, right on Unity Park Drive and end at Williams Pavilion.
Parade Participants: Need to be at Magnolia 6th grade campus by 6:30 pm. Line up will be on a first come/first serve basis. Our city officials who have served in the military will kick off the parade in one of our new fire engines!
The parade is pretty straightforward – a collection of homemade floats, decorated cars, trucks and bicycles are ALL welcomed. But please, no horses – it will probably be too hot, and the route, park, fireworks and clean up is just not practical for animals.
King George and his court will decree the ‘most patriotic float’ and the winner will receive complimentary tickets to this year’s Renaissance Festival! How fitting for the King of England to recognize our outstanding American patriotism.
Our colors will be posted by the Tomball VFW #2420 and we ill recognize our service men and women past and present who have helped to make our freedom a reality!
9:20 p.m. Bay Fireworks Company will treat us to an amazing Fireworks display, with Country Jim & the Country Boys setting the state with our favorite patriotic tune.
